Beskrivelse
The Avid Pro Tools HDX | PCIe Core Card is the real-time mixing and processing engine at the heart of a fully optimized Pro Tools hardware, Pro Tools | Ultimate software, and control surface system, delivering precision-timed mixing, routing, automation, and plug-in performance. Its hybrid capabilities accelerate the most demanding music and audio-post workflows, so you can handle massive music and post-production projects with ease.
Loaded with eighteen DSP cores and two high-performance FPGA chips, the PCIe Core Card supercharges your system without burdening your CPU. The FPGA routes audio with near-zero latency (0.7 ms) while the HDX DSPs handle plug-in processing at staggering speeds. So, you can mix the biggest sessions and record large performances with tons of plug-ins running in real time while your computer’s CPU remains accessible for handling virtual instruments, more plug-ins, and other creative tasks.
The HDX PCIe card features two DigiLink ports and one DigiSerial Port, enabling you to connect Pro Tools hardware to your system. The uniquely designed DigiLink connector provides support for 64 channels of I/O and ensures the highest audio fidelity in and out of the HDX Engine. It also enables Pro Tools to automatically compensate for hardware insert delays. The DigiSerial Port is part of a proprietary technology, providing unmatched sample-accurate synchronization of video frame edges with audio when connected to Avid sync peripherals, like Sync X.
Pro Tools | Ultimate software is available separately or as part of the Pro Tools | HDX PCIe Core Card with Pro Tools | Ultimate Software bundle (MFR #9935-71763-00).
HDX DSP Acceleration with the Hybrid Engine
The Hybrid Engine allows native CPU and HDX DSP power to be used more cooperatively to maximize Pro Tools performance. All processing, voice count, and mixing are handled by your CPU until the moment you need a DSP-based workflow. The result is a vastly significant boost in performance.
You can offload tracks to HDX at the touch of a button. When you need to record with near-zero monitoring latency, simply put a track in DSP Mode. The track’s entire signal chain and AAX DSP-compatible plug-ins are then processed directly on the HDX card while your CPU plays back the rest of your mix.
Up to 2048 Simultaneous Voices with Just One Card
The Hybrid Engine enables a massive 2048 simultaneous voices at all sample rates for any HDX system (compared to 256 voices per HDX card without the Hybrid Engine).
All HDX configurations have the same maximum number of voices. With the Hybrid Engine, stacking HDX cards (up to three cards) will increase your system’s available DSP power for running more AAX DSP plug-ins with near-zero latency and will provide up to 192 channels of I/O.
A single PCIe card running in HDX Classic mode is capable of streaming up to 256 voices at 48 kHz.
A single PCIe card running in HDX Hybrid mode is capable of streaming up to 2048 voices at all sample rates.
Run Tons of Plug-Ins with Near-Zero Latency
With 18 DSP cores and two high-performance FPGA chips, the Pro Tools | HDX PCIe card is a powerhouse. The central FPGA rapidly routes signal around the card—one sample at a time—allowing your system to achieve exceptionally low latency (0.7 ms).
The DSPs handle mixer and real-time plug-in processing at an amazing 6.3 GHz aggregate clip, allowing you to track the largest recording sessions with tons of plug-ins and near-zero latency.
Audio Quality You Can Count On
The engine streams audio to and from your host CPU at uniform 32-bit float precision, preserving the highest-possible audio quality throughout the system’s gain structure. So when the work is mission critical and you press record, you’re backed by exceptional, unwavering capability you can depend on.
